Toolkit + Branding and Visual Design

This case study covers some of my visual and branding work I did for Originate. It covers a product design toolkit and keynote slide designs.

The Ask & My Role

I joined Originate (a software agency turned product design agency) at a time when we were rapidly growing our Product Design team and completely revamping our brand. We needed to establish a library to house all our new brand assets as well as update our existing decks and presentations to reflect our new brand. I was tasked with designing this toolkit, making sure it was easy to use and navigate through.

I also designed new case study templates as a visual design intern to be used in pitch decks for potential clients. These were designed as one-pagers to quickly give a high level overview of our work. The case studies were broken down into 4 - 5 sections: an introduction about the partner, the main challenges we faced, the services we provided, our results, and an optional client review.

Conclusion

Working with Originate’s new brand was an extremely rewarding experience. I got to work with some great assets and learn about typography, layout, and visual design. Unfortunately, the company moved away from the new brand back to its original styling (black, grey, and white). While the case studies and decks saw the light of day for a little bit, the toolkit and other design led projects did not. Originate shifted back to its engineering roots and away from product design. Regardless, I learned a lot about branding and visual design and all the different ways to connect a brand to design components.
